Linda and Jake

On Feb. 16th Ericka and I photographed yet another awesome winter wedding, except this time we had warm sunny weather instead of snow. Linda and Jake met at Clemson and Jake proposed on Wall St in Asheville just a few feet from where the above photo was taken. In October we had a fun day, 1st shooting their enagagement session in downtown Asheville, then moving into the mountains for Linda's bridal portraits.

The wedding day was here before we knew it. We had incredible weather on the shores of lake Hartwell in Anderson SC for the ceremony.

After the reception there was still some daylight so we zipped up to Tigertown for a few more last shots. Clemson had just defeated NC State as we arrived at Tillman Hall.

Then they headed for Belize and we headed for Brevard. ( We tried to trade but they were pretty set on Belize)

the simple pleasures

Pictured above is the blue heron that visits our pond weekly. We love to watch him fish and walk around. The county made us name our drive so we named it blue heron drive after this incredible creature.
On Saturday Feb 9th I hiked up to one of my favorite peaks in the area with Daniel P. and my hiking buddy "Bowden" seen above. Even though the windchill was -10F we stayed for the sunset and enjoyed watching the shadows creep through the valleys and ridges.

Interesting Study

Exciting Email!

I always love to hear from our couples and the other day I got an exciting email from Britnney and Ken. I photographed their wedding back in 06. It was a memorable one at an old country farm. Britnney and her Dad rode horses up to the apple orchard where Ken was waiting at the end of the ailse. Then they climbed on top of a big boulder at were married with their little dog Guiness at their feet. This is the only wedding to date I have got to wear my hiking boots to. The neat thing was the day had thunder showers off and on but it was always OFF when we needed it to be like the ceremony and portrait time but it rained when we were under the tent eating or dancing. We got some incredible images that day and these images have graced my website and marketing material ever since. So back to the exciting the email. Here's the amazing photo THEY sent ME. Isn't she adorable? Her name is Carolina. Good stuff. Congrats again Ken and Britnney.
